What's the best sunscreen to apply to my tattoo if I want to keep it out in the sun?
Posted by adminI have a sleeve tattoo and I read the sun isn't good for tattoos so I was wondering what the best sunscreen is to apply to my tattoo if I wanted to wear short sleeve shirts?
It really does not matter what brand but I always suggest bull frog and with the highest SPF you can find. The more you can block the better it looks. Believe it or not people that are in the sun regularly and apply sun block to there tattoo work there work seems to look better. This is because the rest of there skin is darker than the area of the tattoo and this makes the tattoo appear to even brighter. A good idea is to apply the sun block and with a damp cloth wipe away all the sun block from around the edges of your tattoo so you may tan all the way to the edge of your work. End results are great.

Zinc Oxide is the most powerful but it will appear white and you might not like this.

My artist said that they are all basically the same…but I buy the "name brand" stuff anyway.
As long as it's at least 40-60 proof and you put it on as often as it says to, you will be fine. So, if you got a 60spf sun block, you put it on every hour.
