    hi athelionravi,
haha u sounded funny.. no boy, ur not an alien.

oily face can get flaky too. this means upper layer of skin is too dehydrated.

ur skin produces oil to keep them moisturised but sometimes they tend to overproduce. your skin products may also cause the overdryness too as they are too harsh for your skin.

remember to wash, tone and moisturise(impt even for oily skin) as well as apply sunscreen daily and scrub(get rid of dry dead skincells) and deep-pore mask ur face 2x/wk

    The exact same …
The exact same thing happend to me. My forhead used to be really oily, but started flaking. I didn’t know what to do, because l didn’t want to intensly moisturize and break out. So, I asked one of the workers at Clinique. Try exfoliating. because sometimes the flaky skin can be just dead skin cells:)

    Oxybenzone hasn’t …
Oxybenzone hasn’t been proven to cause cancer. On lab tests done on animals, it has proven to damage some skin cells, but look at aspartame. Aspartame causes cancer in rats, yet there hasn’t been a case yet of a person getting cancer as a result of consuming aspartame.

Scientific studies are done with potent amounts of the ingredient, to see what happens when you get too much. These studies aren’t conclusive for humans.

It’s better to wear sunscreen, just in case.

  16. glitzel Said,

    neutrogena rocks.

    neutrogena rocks.
it has a helio-broad spectrum. meaning it has uva and uvb protection. uva means it causes ageing and uvb causes burning.
it works well as a makeup base too. awesome.

    SPF protect your …
SPF protect your skin from the UVB rays, which cause burning of skin. the SPF number is an indication of the amount of time that the product will protect you from the sun.

SPF will work differently on everyone. for example, if you get burn in the sun with nothing on your face in 20 minutes, the the SPF 100 will protect you for 20×100=2000 minutes, which is more than a day. (33 hours)
but if you get burn within 5 minutes, the it will only protect you for 5×100=500 minutes, which is 8 hours.

Hi… I have seen that Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry touch go as high as SPF100. Sounds really cure, but wot does SPF100 do??

Please excuse my stupidity. I am not well versed on these topics.

ANd by the way, if someone can help, I am a boy, 21 of age, I have got an indian type skin, and I got acne also. My nose is really greasy, but at times it gets so dry and starts flaking off.

Am I an alien or something because i stil dun understand how an oily face can get flaky.

  21. gutrp Said,

I hate it when its oily on my face espcially in summers

    should we use …
should we use sunscreen before or after makeup?

  23. echoli Said,

    It’s kinda …
It’s kinda impossible. That’s why I start off w/ a high spf sunscreen. Even though it won’t last me all day, at least it will protect my skin long enough for me to drive to school or to work. But for people who don’t use makeup or for skin that’s exposed to the sunlight, definitely re-apply sunblock. =)

  24. frr Said,

    How can you apply …
How can you apply it throughout the day if I have makeup on?

  25. jasminetea1220 Said,

    I read somewhere …
I read somewhere that titanium dioxide is not as effective or broad spectrum uva as parsol or zinc oxide.
