Are the Best Sunscreens Made for Women?
Posted by adminImage via Wikipedia
The best sunscreens are made for men too!
A high percentage of macho men subscribe to the belief that sunscreens are for girls and the thought of applying them on their masculine bodies will make them smell like a pina colada. Some dislike the flowery smell of even the best sunscreen lotion. Some are just afraid that other men will be hitting on them when they smell girly. Many just don’t like the thought of sunscreens altogether.
With the percentage of skin cancer cases reported in men nowadays, any sunscreen excuse will no longer be legitimate. Cancer, as most of us know, comes in many different types. The most common of all is skin cancer. Too much exposure to the sun is the main cause of skin cancer and the frightening truth is even one severe incident of sunburn during the early years can result to skin cancer later in life. Every year there are thousands of cases of skin cancer reported mostly in the United States and some cases are claiming the lives of those who are suffering from it in just a short time.
Did you know that though skin cancer most often affects women, cases of skin cancer in men have doubled in the past years? Skin cancer does not prioritize women anymore; anyone can be a victim of the said disease. Sun protection is important and that goes for men, women, children, teenagers, and adults alike. Men should not take the case for granted as epidemic proportions of the disease are related to males. It’s about time men get their skins sun protected as well.
The best sunscreens in the world are not only designed for the ladies. Some may argue and say that most sunscreens smell flowery and feminine but as a matter of fact, unscented formulations are also available and are as effective as those scented ones. Men also complain of having greasy skins when applying sunscreens; there are water or alcohol based sunscreens which can make you feel more comfortable if you dislike oily skin. Simply put, men need sun protection and any excuse of not using sunscreens can be combated by the best sunscreens in the world.
If you are concerned about skin cancer and you want to get yourself sun protected in every possible way, here is a list of preventive things you can do:
- Use a SPF 15 of sunscreen everyday, the higher the SPF value the better.
- 30 minutes before going out under the sun, apply the best sunscreen to your entire body and remember to reapply every two hours.
- Protect your skin with enough clothing, use a sun protection hat, and UV blocking eyewear.
- Examine your own skin every now and then.
- See a physician when you notice some changes in your skin.
There are many sunscreen lotions or creams in the market. Of course you would like to pick the diamond out of the rough; you should at least have an idea how to choose the best sunscreens in the store. Check the features of every brand. Remember that the greater the SPF, the more sun protection you get. Some sunscreens have special features like anti-aging effects, combined moisturizer and sunscreen, water based sunscreens, skin toner sunscreens, and many more.
If you are a man who is picky when it comes to purchasing and using a sunscreen, choices of the best sunscreens are endless for you.

I use Watermans for working out and swimming. It seems to be the new standard for water sports and endurance athletics. It doesn’t seem to come off no mater how much I sweat and doesn’t get in my eyes. Most importantly I don’t get burned. If you take a look at the website you will see that they address all of the issues listed above with their product. An added benefit for me is that it doesn’t make me break out. I purchased it online with a link from the website http://www.watermansappliedscience.com
sunscreens are equally beneficial for both male and female. UVB rays are the prominent source of skin cancer. and density of these ray in sunlight is at its peak in after noon hour.
Where as the uva rays not as hazardous as uvb. But these are causing aging for skin.
err, “uvb uva rays” is totally wrong. He got his information reversed. UVA are way worse than UVB, since most sunblocks do a good job of blocking UVB rays, but not UVA.
